Back to my roots....

Over the past couple days, I've taken a tiny break from painting and other stuff and broken in my new sketchbook....I'm super anal about the brand of book I use, usually only Canson's because the paper is usually too smooth in other brands for me, but after not being able to hunt down a Canson, reluctantly settled on a new brand...good news, is the texture and tooth of the paper is almost identical...I would have to say that pencil is the technique that I am most comfortable and I find myself being able to relax more then any other medium......sooooo, I was thinking that maybe I need to really focus on my pencil work more. I've always wanted to have a gallery show of nothing but small pencil drawings in really ornate frames. I guess I just like the idea of people being forced to get close to a piece and really have to check them out....I have the He-man art show coming up in February and I think instead of a painting I'll do my piece in pencil.....Anyway, here's a couple of the pieces I did.....

I just discovered your blog and am really taken by the ethereal quality of your sketches, all the while your hatching giving the objects mass and a sense of form. I'm lovin' it. I'd really enjoy seeing a more closeup detail of your hatching.
